Thursday September 23, 2010 Event
Location: The Waterbar in San Francisco
399 The Embarcadero South (Embarcadero & Folsum)
Time: Noon - 4PM
Key Speaker: Randy L. Bias, CEO, Cloudscalling
Speaker Topic: How Cloud Computing Changes the Status Quo
This session will discuss how the cloud computing model changes enterprise IT.
Managing datacenters 'at scale' requires a whole new focus on
automation and business agility. Cloud means providing self-service IT
to a number of different constituencies including business owners, end
users, developers, and IT/operations itself. Delivering on the promise
of IT as a service with low friction and high cost efficiency means
reconsidering the entire IT 'stack'. A rethink and re-imagining of how
IT 'does business' is crucial to delivering success. At the end of the
day you will be able to answer a number of key questions: "Is my IT
organization competitive against external services?" "What applications
need to reside inside or outside my firewall?" "How do I wire it all
together so that I can manage the return on investment regardless of
where the IT service resides?"
Each event will include guest speakers,
and the majority of time is allocated to
peer discussion. (Speaker's section is
typically reserved for an hour or less)
